I finally decided on what my first e-bike was going to be, and I'm glad I chose the LMT'D. I mainly got it for the fact that it has a torque sensor, but the other features are satisfactory. The upright seating position, step through frame, and swept back handlebars make this an excellent commuter bike. The throttle will keep me around 20mph easily. As for the pedal assist, I can keep it around 25mph pedaling comfortably, but with a little more hard pedaling I can get up to that 28mph top speed, and even a little more with some tail wind. While I'm not a big fan of derailleurs, the Shimano Altus is quick and snappy with the shifting. The gears come in handy quite a lot with hill climbing, which I should mention this bike is a hill climbing beast. On the lowest gear on the highest pedal assist, this thing handles even the steepest hills in my town, and there are a lot of hills here. As of now I use this bike for daily commuting to work and back. It does exactly what it needs to and it's super fun to ride. Thankfully, it is also a bit lighter than most other e-bikes, meaning that I can get this up and down the stairs in my apartment complex. Some things to note: The assembly is a bit tricky and time consuming. Be prepared for it, make sure to watch Ride1Up's video. The lock nut for the chain ring is counterclockwise, and it comes with a 1/2inch driver tool, which is handy. Make sure to do some setting up with the derailleur within your first few rides to make sure that it's shifting quickly and not clanking or scratching while you pedal. Check the box for any loose screws; I ended up finding the screw for the screen mount after searching the box for any missing parts. I willing gave up having a pre installed rack and integrated taillight so I could have a torque sensor, but I say it's a fair compromise for the price. I can always get the rack Ride1Up sells for it afterwards. If you want a torque sensor e-bike, this is the one to get. If you don't mind the cadence sensor and you want the rack and taillight, Ride1Up also sells the 700 Series bike for the same price. Overall, the bike is awesome. It's fast, fun, climbs hills, and it's great for commuting. I would highly recommend this bike to anyone that wants a powerful e-bike with a torque sensor.

On a scale of 1-10, I would give it an 11 if I could. I don't write a lot of reviews, but this bike is AMAZING. It demands a few words for the folks at Ride1Up. They have built a superior product. I purchased the bike a few months ago for use as a "gravel bike". I ride 50% pavement and 50% fire roads and trails. After an initial disappointment upon receiving a bent rear wheel out of the carton (not R1U's fault, the trucker mishandled), they quickly replaced it with a spare and paid for the installation at my local shop. Bonus points for customer service. Since then, it has been an absolute blast to ride. I live in a hilly area and the final climb up a monster hill to my house always required extra motivation to ride my old Trek mountain bike. No more! I have added a set of Schwalbe Hurricane tires to give it a bit more bite on gravel/dirt paths. The Groove-E tires that came with were great for street riding, but a little scary in fast corners off-road. I also added a stem extender to the handle bars, since I am 6' 3" and the frame geometry was a tad small. With the extender, it is fine. The stem extender was cheap and quick to install, taking all of 5-10 minutes. Let me say that the torque sensor on this bike is phenomenal. It is way, WAY better than a cadence sensor bike and it really smooths out the hills. The front air shock is also fantastic. Overall, the bike's setup lets me get a great workout in when I really push it. Yes, it is a heavy bike, but I still find my workouts are mostly with zero peddle assist, except on big hills, or when I am really tired heading home. Meanwhile, when I am going for a lazy cruise on a Sunday afternoon, it is a smooth, comfy ride. In either case, the bike has fantastic range. Overall, kudos to the peeps at Ride1Up. Right from the get go, this specific model is sporty and the performance is just perfect and exceeded my expectations literally. I even ordered my wife a Cafe Cruiser, which is a very different bike, but we are satisfied with that as well. I will say, it takes not an insignificant amount of tuning for someone like me to get it where I like it, but I think that has to do with how sporty it is and how you will want to really dial it in. The brakes especially took a lot of burn in and centering. Working with R1Up has been pleasant. I did meet the wheels trued. The popped and creaked. Probably would have been fine to just tighten the spokes, but they were quick to credit me for the shop to do it. The assembly wasn't too hard. Definitely take your time with it. There are some details that need to be updated. For example, I was worried the Torque sensor would be difficult, but it was probably the easiest part. This is probably the favorite thing I have bought in years. Just the combination of practical, useful, and fun makes it hands down a no brainer and I would do it again a million times over.

Only 80 miles on it so far but very impressed. Incredibly smooth and quiet plus looks about as close to a non-ebike as an ebike can. It has no problem getting to 28mph in PA 1. I thought I would want to setup 5 levels of PA but the stock 3 levels has worked great, I rarely get out of 1. I have been using it on pavement, gravel and some single track MTB trails. The stock bars were a bit to narrow for me so I put on a RaceFace Atlas and it feels much more stable now. Also, a set of RaceFace Chester pedals were a no-brainer. Great bike, sleek, good looking with chunky rubber. The torque sensor is next level for me, allowing a very natural bike riding feel. Range has been exceptional, I find myself in P1 95% of my ride, I am routinely getting 50 miles on a 90 percent charge, with 47 volts showing when I charge. Fun to ride and pretty stealthy as well.

Worst online purchase ever. I was sent 2 bent wheels on my ST, with spokes that were unusable. and would be unsafe. The rear rim looked like a warped roller coaster. There was no way to true the wheels because they just spun around and around. So I needed to buy brand new spokes and have the wheels rebuilt. When I sent sent Ride1Up a pictures and a video, they insulted my mechanic (who's been building wheels for 40 years, and actually went to China to help them build ebikes) and they ordered a 2nd opinion. I wasn't about to gather the whole bike in parts and drive an hour away so Ride1Up could then say, "Not good enough. Get a 3rd opinion." When I asked Customer Support to sell me a new rim, they didn't even bother to reply to my email. To rebuild the wheels it cost $270 for labor and parts . When I submitted this for reimbursement, they were very rude and refunded me $50, which is nowhere near the cost of relacing and rebuilding wheels. I've been buying bikes since the late 1970s. This was by far my worst experience. Caveat Emptor, folks.

Loving my LMT'd so far. Fast, solid and very cool looking e-bike. The bike arrived in 2 days. No damage to the box. Assembly was easy following the video instructions. Wheels were true and brakes in-line. Derailer was dialed-in perfectly. I have 200+ miles so far on it and battery life is amazing. Can't say enough on how much I am enjoying this E-Bike and the help and response from Ride1Up CS so far. I highly recommend the company and especially the LMT'd model. For my needs it has been a great bike and purchase.

Lots of things to say, almost entirely positive. But OK, I think it would be better for both men and women to have not just a pure women's model, as you'd call the "Step Through/ST", but a pure man's model with a top tube being horizonal or nearly so, such as on Marin hybrid models. A real guy doesn't need any step though does he? You can call a spade something not a spade, but it's still a spade, right? That's straight talk from me. It's not just about an imperfect image or perceptions either; That's a 55 pound bike with the battery in, that's a two arm lift till you get it up to shoulder level, and a top tube at that kind of a slant makes it more ungainly to dead lift to a degree every time. So in making it into something that is presumably supposed to apply to more people's use, you also make it into something slightly less easy to move around every single time, for all of the people who get it. For a man, there is zero gain there. Finally, unless we're Scotsmen, we don't need room for a skirt do we?! Ha! I think you guys went a little over the top on the reflectors. The first thing I did was to remove every one excepting the one's fitted to the pedal platforms, and added a rear flashing light. Oh yeah, another issue caused by the compromised top tube as I discussed, is that when you mount a water holder on the vertical tube, you can't use ordinary sized containers which would fit either pure road or hybrid man's style bikes: One has to get a shorter, fatter one, which barely fits, and also use a flexible cage to make that work. But alright, while those things had to be pointed out, they could seem disproportionate. It's a really good bike, with many good things about it. I find that it's not so heavy that going on zero power is any kind of a problem at all. Often I'm able to do 20MPH with zero power on flats, and I usually warm up for a ways with no power on, sometimes for more than a mile. I've even done steep hills with no power on in low gears just to test out what could be done with it. It is a little clunky from my perspective but not overly. It handles pretty well considering the added weight compared to a 35 pound regular bike. The tires on this bike are large but not too large. The tires as part of the whole show that this bike is geared to being more normal looking like a cruiser style bike is more normal looking or a MTB style bike is more normal looking. I mean to say that that is the overall appearance. Some e-bikes look aesthetically ridicules for size and weight and style while this one doesn't, as is the case with most of what you have in your line-up. It is and it appears to be a practical ride for a practical guy. Also about the tires I am quite sure that part of the reason for the impression I've had for the bike concerning stability and handling at higher bike speeds is due to these tires. I've had it up to nearly 40 MPH on downhills, 37-39MPH that is, and it feels like it was made for it. Clearly it's a combination of things like with weight besides the tires, but it's been one of the most distinct things noticeable compared to any other bike I've ridden. I'm very impressed with the use of the gears--very smooth to shift and a very good brand with the Shimino, although one higher rear gear more would be an improvement. Which brings me to another impression; Ok for downshifting when the power is on, there ought to be an easy way to cut the power temporarily because unless you have the time to button press the power level down to zero before you start downshifting, the motor keeps giving you the juice which is unwanted at that point. It forces you to plan ahead kind of unnaturally and wastes battery power. I really like the lack of fenders and rack on this since there are several uses for the bike for me. Having added weight on all the time is not something I need. Just so you know correspondingly, I have honored my promise (for the $43 off) for making fewer trips in my pickup truck. For instance between the use of both of my bikes for it, I've not driven for groceries one time in more than a month, yet I get all I need. I make use of a German bike backpack and not racks. Filling that up can be 25 plus lbs. of weight at times when you consider loads with sacks of dog food, wine, milk. Well then, I guess that's enough. Those are some of my impressions for the Limited model. I've been riding more with the combination of my two bikes in the last month than for just about any previous month in the last six years having bikes again. Wow, I really should have gone with Ride1Up sooner. The LMT'D has quality is spades, the motor is smooth, the Shimano Altus 8 speed needed very little adjusting, and it shifts buttery smooth. The grips are extremely comfortable, the brakes have incredible 2 finger stopping power and that torque sensor!!! Amazing. It really does make you feel a bit like Superman, on the trail in the picture above, I passed some nice folks on "regular" bikes, and I heard the kid say "wow dad, look at him", and I knew I would never ride anything but an ebike. Only 2 improvements that I can see, the saddle is very firm, and hurts after a bit (easy and inexpensive to replace) and the pedals. The pedals are fine, but a bit plasticy, but there again, personal preference, and easily fixable. The LMT'D really has to be the absolute best value out there. Thanks Ride1up, we just bought a Core-5 for my wife because you earned that repeat business!

Took out all of the parts, triple checked the box for any stray parts. Started the assembly video just to find that I could not even do the first main step. My order was missing the cap and bolt that is supposed to be attached to the front fork. Checked EVERYWHERE, unpacked everything and it was nowhere to be found. Was really excited but was unable to use/gift this. Additionally, the clamp that holds the handlebars in place was completely uneven so I loosened it to center the clamp. This uncovered damage due to the incorrectly centered clamp..

I've already logged in about 200 miles on this bike in the last month and I am in love with its torque, power, and smoothness of the torque sensor, all for a fantastic price! The box mine arrived in was in very poor condition, torn up and the top was open, so I was worried about the condition of the bike, but it was packaged fine, no missing pieces and no damage to the paint that I've heard about from some reviewers. Assembly is definently involved as I've never put together a bike before, but the YouTube videos were very well done and I was able to do it on my own with no issues in about an hour and a half. I purchased fenders too and they were very well made and easy to install, as long as you're OK with removing the rear tire which I would recommend everyone to learn for future maintenance. Lots of videos online about tuning the brakes and derailleur as well. If that sounds intimidating to you, a bike shop will put it all together for you for about $150. Assembly aside, once put together this thing is a beast and I can't stop riding it!

Easy to assembly and everything worked perfectly, with no adjustment. Torque sensor and high power motor make the bike fun, fast and hill capable. My 18 year old son uses the bike to commute to his job at the local Pavillons market. I would recommend this bike for anyone looking for a powerful fast commuter, being without fenders makes the bike easier to fit in out compact suv, when we need to transport it. 200 miles and no problems.

I’ll start with the bad before the good. The bike arrived with a bent front brake disc, several chips, and a bent rear hoop. Now the company did credit me $40 to acquire a paint match at the local paint store. They also, refunded me for the service to get the brake trued, wheel swap, and they overnighted me a new rear wheel assembly. Still worried about the rear wheel spokes getting loose due to the motor. The bike motor for some reason kicks on soon as the system powers up before adding any assistance, weird. The rear wheel still makes some noise, but maybe it’s normal. Now for the good parts, the bike feels good, it’s light, looks sleek. I’m glad I’ve got the front headlight now. The motor is great and their responsiveness and customer service have been good. I’ve got 36 miles on it so far, if I can update this review after more miles I will.
